Accession: 2011-173-1 Clothing, Apron Decorative 24 5/8" H x 24" W Apron made from sailor's uniform. Waistband is a cap ribbon from USS Pittsburgh CA-72. The apron is made from an enlisted sailor's neckerchief and the decorative elements are distinguishing marks and rating badges. These are Signalman non-rated, Mount Captain, Quartermaster Second Class, Boatswains Mate Second Class, Hospital Apprentice and Quartermaster. These items were often made by sailors onboard ship for family members. Collection of Curator Branch, Naval History and Heriatge Command. |
