Description
English: Dazzle camouflaged freighter In port, 1918, probably on the lower Mississippi River. The original photo caption identifies this ship as USS Berwyn (ID # 3565), but that vessel did not visit the Gulf area during her World War I era Navy service. Berwyn also differed in many details from the ship seen here (see Photo # NH 64594-A). Photograph from the Bureau of Ships Collection in the U.S. National Archives.
